Chiaki J. Konaka
Chiaki Konaka

Screenwriter, Scenarist

(From Wikipedia)

Chiaki J. Konaka (小中 千昭, Konaka Chiaki) born on April 4th 1961, is a Japanese writer and scenarist best known for Serial Experiments Lain, and later for the Digimon season, Digimon Tamers. He is also known to be the creator of Ultraman Gaia, as cited by Tsuburaya Productions.

Konaka's serious works generally have a dark, psychological tone. As a Cthulhu Mythos writer, he tends to add Lovecraftian elements to his works.

"Chiaki J. Konaka" is a very unusual name, as Japanese names never include middle names. The "J." part of his name is also not part of the original Kanji writing of his name. He adopted the middle initial when writing his name in Roman characters and goes by this name in situations requiring the romanized version of his name.
